Rock The Park- Hike

Did you ever wonder what it takes to go on a fun day hike? Join one of our experienced volunteers for a leisurely morning hike around Oak Grove Park. Whether you have never hiked before or are an experienced trekker, join us for a few hours. Your Guide will give advice about hiking including planning, gear, proper hiking technique, & etiquette.
No experience is needed and families are welcome to experience the outdoors together. The trails will require moderate effort with some uphill and downhill walking. We will be trekking through various terrains & ecosystems including prairie, woods, & river environments.
Registration limited to 20 participants. **If it is the day of event, online registration will be blocked, please call 712-552-3057 to check for availability.
Things to wear or bring:
1. Good Shoes (no flip flops or sandals).
2. Appropriate clothing for weather conditions. e.g. Coat for cold weather, raincoat if rain possible, hat, gloves.
3. Water bottle
4. Snack
5. Small backpack, not required but easier to carry water, snack, clothing
