Join Mike Hawkins, Fisheries Biologist from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. He will be presenting an education program on Asian Carp and will have the shocking pontoon for the public to see. This program will take place July 14 at 6 pm, at the boat ramp at Oak Grove Park, rain date will be July 21st. Carp that is shocked will be netted with the assistance of the Big Sioux Catfish Anglers Club. All carp species will be transported to Save Our Avian Resources raptor rehabilitation center in Dedham, Iowa, and fed to eagles and osprey that are being prepared for release in the wild.
