Iowa River Bones as a Window into Ice Age Animal Communities presented by Matt Hill, ISU:
Iowa rivers and associated gravel deposits
contain the remains of extinct Ice Age animals, for example, musk ox, mammoth
and mastodon, caribou, stag moose, and ground sloth. Study of this material
aids in the reconstruction of the ecology of these animals as well as the
context, cause, and chronology of their extinction.
Menu: Beef & noodles,
mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, dinner roll, and chocolate pound cake
Registration for the optional meal is required by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018
Future O.W.L.S. programs:

May 1, 2018 - Butterflies in Iowa & in Your Backyard
