Event Summary

Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls is a fun way to get out of the house, learn about nature, and enjoy the company of friends.  Join Tama County Conservation on the 2nd Wednesday of each month our interesting lineup of  O.W.L.S. speakers. Presentations will start at 11 and a light lunch will follow the program (around noon). This series is designed for seniors but all adults are welcome. Free-will donations will be accepted to cover costs for lunch and guest speakers.

May Topic  - Plant.Grow.Fly. No effort is too small and each and every one of us can do our part to help pollinators thrive just by planting small butterfly gardens. Jessie Lowry at the Blank Park Zoo will tell you all about this grassroots conservation efforts to help pollinators across Iowa. The program has registered nearly 500 butterfly gardens in the state of Iowa. You will learn how much pollinators impact our global food source, about pollinator conservation and what simple things you can plant to help your local pollinators.
