High Lakes Outdoor Alliance Shooting Range

The High Lakes Outdoor Alliance Shooting Range is the newest addition to Three Mile Lake Recreation Area. The range was recently constructed and is managed by the High Lakes Outdoor Alliance Non-Profit group. The range consists of 5 separate ATA Certified trap shooting stations, skeet range, 50yd. pistol range, rifle range with berms at 100, 200,300,400, 500, 550, 600, and 750 yards, and a clubhouse. HLOA hosts numerous shooting events, including leagues, along with local collegiate, FFA, and 4H trap shooting teams. The cost for a 1 year membership is $50 or a $10 day use fee without membership.                                   Notice to Cabin Users and Campers

Three Mile Lake is currently (on 6/20/25) 10’ low due to the lake renovation project that occurred last year.  The project has been complete since January 2025 but with the sparse precipitation this spring and summer the lake has remained low. 

The Union County Conservation Board is located in south-central Iowa and his home to the 3350-acre Three Mile Lake Recreation Area. The Union County Conservation Board manages a total of 9 parks, recreation, and wildlife areas encompassing 3,790 acres about the county.
