LANDOWNERS HABITAT WORKSHOP
Exciting things are taking place for landowners. Come to the Landowners Habitat Workshop and learn more about what landowners, tenants, and wildlife enthusiasts can do to enhance their land for long-term sustainability. The workshop date is Friday, April 1 from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. It will be held at Webster County ISU Extension office on the SE side of the Crossroads Mall, Fort Dodge. (Look for the large red canopy sign.) Topics include CRP mid-contract management, native vs. invasive plants, timber management, windbreaks, wildlife diversity, and pheasant management. The day will end with on-site demonstrations at the Smeltzer Learning Farm south of Otho with tours showcasing the conservation practices, tree plantings, and a controlled burn (weather permitting).
