Skillet Creek Night Hike

Event Summary

Bring your flashlights and family for a hike in the dark. Hear the stories of the ancient woodland cultures that once lived in the area. Hike through the old mining town of Hard Scrabble and witness a few remnants from a previous way of life in the valley.  

Participants will learn about the history of the region and some nocturnal animals before exploring for animal signs. 

Skillet Creek Indian Mounds are located 4 miles south of Dayton on highway 175, 1/2 mile north on River Road, then turn left onto Skillet Creek Road. Travel 1/2 mile and parking is before the bridge.
