Shorebird viewing trip to Cardinal Marsh
MAY 23 2010 1:15 PM
Event Summary
The Lake Meyer Nature Center will have a field trip to Cardinal Marsh on Sunday afternoon, May 23, to look for birds. Shorebird migration is in full swing and if any mudflats are found around the marsh we should be able to see several different and interesting wading birds. If water levels remain high we will have to be content with watching resident waterfowl and woodland landbirds instead. Bring binoculars if you have them, and maybe some mosquito repellent since they could be plentiful if the weather warms up. Meet at the nature center at 1:15 p.m. to carpool to the marsh or meet at the south parking lot at Cardinal Marsh at 2:00 p.m. Call the Winneshiek County Conservation Board at 563-534-7145 for more information about this program.
