Target Archery at Lake Meyer

Event Summary

The Winneshiek County Conservation Board will be hosting a public program on target shooting with bow and arrow at Lake Meyer Park on Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public. All equipment will be provided.             If you are an aspiring target shooter or bow hunter, or would just like to learn more about the sport of archery, join us at Lake Meyer for a fun and safe afternoon of shooting. WCCB staff will be teaching the basics of archery modeled on international target archery, the same style used in Olympic competition.             WCCB staff members have received technique and safety training through the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). The equipment that will be used was purchased with assisting funds from the Iowa Archery in the Schools Program. If you are an educator or leader of an organized group, we invite you to join us on Sunday to learn how WCCB can make an archery experience part of your classroom or group activity.             The program will meet at the ball diamond by the campground at 2:00. The event is weather dependent and will not be held if it is raining. Visit the Winneshiek County Conservation Board online at www.winneshiekwild.com or call (563) 534-7145 for more information.
