Event Summary

Did you know 50% of the pollution in our lakes and rivers is washed in by storm water? Or that water use can increase by 40-50% during the summer months, mostly because of outdoor water use? Help slow down storm water runoff and reduce your water consumption by installing a rain barrel!

Join Winneshiek County Conservation Board staff in a hands-on workshop to construct your own 55-gallon rain barrel on Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 pm at Lake Meyer Park. All materials and tools will be provided, as will information on how to collect and use runoff rain water.

Please make sure you are able to transport your barrel after the workshop.

$20 materials fee. Limited to 20 participants. Registration required by March 27 by calling (563) 524-7145. Additional workshops will be scheduled if need demands.
