Sindelar Access

Discover Sindelar Access in Decorah
Sindelar Access is a 17-acre wildlife area bisected by Casey Springs trout stream. This stream provides habitat for native South Pine-strain Brook Trout, an uncommon fish species that relies on cold, clean water to survive.
Extensive streambank restoration work has provided excellent access to the stream. Fishing is allowed, but Brook Trout must be caught and released, and anglers may only use artificial lures.
The park features 1/2 mile of mowed walking trails on the north side of the stream. These paths provide good access to the trout stream as they pass through planted prairies and groves of young silver maple, river birch, and oak trees.
