Event Summary
Southwood Conservation Area, 1 mile S of Smithland, Iowa. Meet at the parking lot by the ponds. Learn about kayaking basics and then practice your skills on the lake. All equipment provided. Dress to get wet. For ages 8 and up. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Limited sizes of PFDs (life jackets) and limited boats available. All participants must wear a PFD. Participation waivers must be signed by all participants. This program is free. Pre-registration is Required. For information and to pre-register call 712-258-0838.
