Forest Bathing
JUN 25 2022 9:15 AM
Event Summary
Weather permitting, we'll practice outdoors so dress appropriately. No prior experience necessary. BYOC - Bring Your Own Chair or Cushion. Forest Bathing is ancient wisdom to find healing in the woods. We'll slow waaaaay down and simply notice what is around us. We'll engage all our senses; the sounds of the forest, the scent of the trees, the light playing on the forest floor, the touch of a leaf. Very simple. Very healing. Forest Bathing (Shinrin-yoku) was developed in Japan in the 1980's to counter stress and burn-out from the rise of technology and to help people reconnect with nature. Americans are in need of this too. The EPA estimates that on average Americans spend 93% of their time indoors. Yikes! Join us for forest bathing! Presented by Siouxland Zen, led by Daiden/Dan Pecaut, a Rinzai Zen priest. For more information about Zen in Nature or Siouxland Zen, you can contact Daiden at dpecaut@gmail.com
