Wapello County Conservation Campground Host 2025

Benefits:
Free site with water and 50-amp hookup provided for the camp hosts

$200/month from May 1st, 2025-Mid Oct.   

Dump station and shower house nearby. 

The newly renovated campground is part of the beautiful 995-acre Pioneer Ridge Nature Area.  20 gravel sites including host site (host site has concrete pad).  

Attendants provide guests with customer service, information, resolve issues, clean the campgrounds and restrooms, and assist the Wapello County Conservation staff in ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience. 

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Presence
• Host will be at their site at least 5 days of the week (including weekends)
• Maintain clean and orderly campsite
• Treat guests with kindness and respect. You may be the first and only person they have interacted with in Wapello County Conservation!
• Handle reservations
• Assist campers to find their spots on arrival
• Ensure sites are ready for incoming reservation
• Handle any same day camping
• Set out reserve sign for shelter rentals
• Answer questions about MyCountyParks.com as needed
• Maintenance
• Clean camp area and fire rings
• Clean showers, restroom facilities including pit toilets
• Maintain shelter
• Maintain Kiosk
• Pick up trash in park
• Working with Conservation staff, Volunteers, Public, and Local authorities
• Notify proper personnel in event of an emergency
• Notify conservation staff on any repairs needed
• Keep records and report to conservation staff of any comments or concerns campers have
• Provide directions and information to park visitors and campers
