Naturalist

Develops lesson plans and educational material for use in promoting and presenting environmental education and interpretive programs for schools, youth and adult groups, and the general public to promote positive attitudes toward the environment and to provide basic ecological knowledge.

Teaches outdoor and environmental skills to the general public to enhance their participation in environmental issues.

Attends conferences and workshops to better acquire familiarity with and capability to deliver services and programs.

Acquires necessary permits and licenses to keep live and preserved specimens of animals, knowledge of and ability to provide proper care of liv animals for educational purposes. Responsible for keeping live animal area clean and organized.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing to people of all ages and educational abilities include writing for brochures, newsletters, displays, letters, reports and press releases. Write and edit the quarterly newsletter.

Help maintain and further county's website and social media sites pertaining to environmental topics and activities of the Conservation Board.

Researches sources and applies for grants and aid to assist the environmental education programs.

Assists with special projects and other management and maintenance activities of Conservation Board.
