Description
The Linn County Conservation Department has 2 temporary (full-time) opening available for the 2025 summer season (June – August). These positions are based at the Linn County Wanatee Park Shop and will support Natural Resources and Vegetation Management related work.
Performs establishment and maintenance of native forest, prairie, and wetland ecosystems. Removes and manages invasive species using mechanical and chemical means, such as chainsaws, backpack sprayers, and UTV spray units. Other activities include tree planting, and maintenance, prairie installation, wetland plant establishment, trail maintenance, GIS mapping, and other park or natural area maintenance tasks as needed
Must pass a County physical examination which includes a drug test after offer of employment. Random drug tests during employment may be required. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to obtain a Commercial Pesticide License within (1) month of employment. Assistance in obtaining this license will be provided by County staff. Other desired qualifications include the ability to accurately identify native and invasive species.
Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
