Description
DESCRIPTION: Permanent,
full-time position under the general supervision of the Conservation Board Director. Plan, develop and present approximately 350 Environmental
Education programs for seven public school districts, two parochial schools, youth
groups (scouts, 4-H), adult and senior citizen groups as well as the general
public. Help market, design and develop printed
materials such as newsletters, press releases and promotional flyers. May assist
with grant writing, social media accounts, MyCountyParks.com and website
development. Schedules duties and
activities with other full-time naturalist.
The position will include environmental and recycling education.
QUALIFICATIONS: This person will have,
at a minimum, graduated from an accredited 4-year college or university with
major course work in environmental education, animal ecology, natural
resources, outdoor recreation, or a related natural science field. Experience
as a nature interpreter, teacher, or in the environmental education field is
preferred. Other skills/training that
will be needed or applicant must be comfortable teaching include: GPS, Fish
Iowa training, Project Wild, canoeing/kayaking, archery, biking and pellet gun. Applicant must be personable and able to work
on multiple programs/projects at a time. Applicant
must possess a valid drivers’ license and be able to get a D3 classification
before starting employment. Computer
literacy is essential including Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
presentations. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. The selected applicant will be required to work
some nights, weekends and holidays. This
job requires passing a post offer physical and applicant will be
subjected to a background check and drug testing.
SALARY: $44,000 - $49,000
with full county benefits; uniform allowance and access to a county vehicle
provided during work hours. Benefits and rules for this position fall under the
guidelines of the Bremer County personnel policy.

Qualifications
