Description
SUMMARY:
Under immediate supervision, performs unskilled tasks required in the maintenance of county parks and management areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location in order to perform assigned tasks.
• Assists in the performance of general maintenance work such as hauling garbage, cleaning toilets, cutting wood, building fences, roadwork, and other park maintenance.
• Performs janitorial duties in the shop and office.
• Washes and cleans vehicles.
• Operates tractors and trucks when necessary to carry out maintenance and development activities.
• Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
• Administrative and Functional supervision is received from Park Ranger III, Unit Ranger, or designated official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
• No functional or administrative supervision exercised.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license and be insurable under county guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED desirable;
• Previous work experience preferred.
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain good public relations.
• Some knowledge in the operation of manual tools and equipment.
