Description
Seasonal Internship will be based out of the Thorpe Park Recreation Area located outside of Forest City. The primary duties of this position will be to assist with all aspects of management on over 3,600 acres county wildlife areas, parks, and trails. This will include but is not limited to: prairie establishment, wetland management, timber stand improvement, food plot establishment, noxious weed and brush control, maintenance of existing grasslands, trap and target ranges, park and equipment maintenance. Pesticide applicators license a plus but not be required. This is not a complete list of work activities to be performed. 40 hour work week with occasional nights/weekends possible.
Qualifications
Enrolled or have a degree in one of the following fields: natural resource management, wildlife biology, ecology, forestry, agriculture or related field of study. Relevant experience may be considered in place of education.
