UPDATE!! 'Jared's Park' Playground Project

Be a hero in someone's story!

Do you remember your favorite childhood playground? That place where you could run and climb and use your imagination to take you to other worlds?  That place where you could enjoy the great outdoors and play with family and friends?

Henry County Conservation Department would like to create such a space for kids at our Top of Hill campground near the Nature Center. We are excited to show you our updated design. This playground is in memory of Jared Smith - the son of our Conservation Board President David (Janet) Smith.  Although he had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, he did not let the disease define him. He was fond of the outdoors and loved to watch birds and squirrels. As a child, Jared did not have an inclusive playground where he could let his imagination take him to new worlds. This new playground concept is all-inclusive...meaning children of all mobility levels will enjoy what it has to offer! From the 360 Loop Slide to the wheelchair accessible glider to the Niche capsules that provide a safe and calming space for over-stimulated children...this playground provides active and sensory areas that will delight any child!
