Eden Park
Eden Park is a 146 acre park donated by Donna Eden in 2011. Eden Park features mowed grass trails through two beautiful prairie sections separated by a stream valley with a low water crossing. A fluctuating wetland area to the north is home to amphibians, reptiles, and water loving birds.
Eden Park is home to a nature playscape, water bottle filling station/drinking fountain/dog watering station, picnic table, and seasonal portable toilet. Future plans include a picnic shelter.
Location
Eden Park is located on County Road X17 near the town of Gladwin. To get there, take HWY 92 west out of Columbus Junction. Turn North onto County Road X17 and follow it for three miles until you reach Eden Park.
Features
The habitat consists of former ag ground enrolled in CRP, planted to a mix of cool and warm season grasses. There is also forest, two creeks and a wetland. Visitors can expect to see deer, turkey, pheasant, waterfowl and squrrels among other Iowa wildlife. At this time hunting is NOT allowed at Eden Park.
