Discover Mud Creek Recreation Area in Danville

Mud Creek Recreation Area is a 52 acre multi-use area featuring steeply rolling hills that mellow into a flat flood plain bordering Mud Creek. This recreation area is a favorite place for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and hunters. A shelter house and restroom are available.

The area surrounding Mud Creek Recreation Area is well-known for geodes. Geodes may NOT be disturbed or REMOVED from this area without a permit. Permits will granted for educational purposes ONLY. Permits need to be obtained in person from the Conservation Department at 2593 Nature Center Drive, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa or call (319) 986-5067.
