Pammel Park campgrounds have 36 designated modern sites providing electrical and water hookups. There are also 5 tent-only sites. Modern bathrooms and showers are also provided along with play equipment. Dump station provided.

Facilities:

•36 Rock-Surfaced Sites.
•50-30-20 amp electrical service/site.
•Water hookups at each site.
•Tent only sites ( Five, elevated) as posted.
•Modern bathrooms & showers.
•Play Equipment.
Camping Fees:
$24/night/pad = 30/50 Amp electric, water, table & grill at each site.
$16.00/night/tent = Tent camp areas as posted.

Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after N/A and check-out is before N/A.

Location Pammel Park is located 4 miles southwest of Winterset. Modern camping facilities are located on the Backbone. Directions: From Winterset travel west on State Highway 92 for 1 mile, turn south on County Highway P68 for 3 miles.

Early April-November (pending on weather).

Operating Hours: 7:00am-10:00pm (closes at dusk).

Madison County

The Madison County Conservation Board (MCCB) is located in south central Iowa and is home to Pammel Park and some of Iowa's historic covered bridges. Additionally, the Madison County Conservation Board collectively manages 17 parks, wildlife areas and historic sites encompassing over 2,400 acres across the county. Our offices are located in Winterset, Iowa just south of town on John Wayne Drive.
