Welcome to Webster County!

Explore the Great Outdoors with Webster County Conservation!

The Webster County Conservation Board is located in central Iowa and is home to the Matt Cosgrove River's Edge Discovery Center and John F. Kennedy Memorial Park. The Webster CCB collectively manages 24 areas, memorial sites, wildlife areas and prairies - encompassing over 2,000 acres within the county.

The Matt Cosgrove River's Edge Discovery Center will serve as the hub for conservation in Webster County. A place that not only welcomes those who come to learn and play, but also tells the story of the land and water that we enjoy. The hands-on, interactive exhibits tell the story of Iowa’s most precious resource...it’s water.

The largest and most popular area managed by the Webster County Conservation Board is John F. Kennedy Memorial Park. This park is a 400 acre multiple use recreation area. The 53-acre Badger Lake provides the focal point for a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, canoeing and boating (no gas motors) as well as the 18-hole Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.

To reserve the Bob Heun Shelter House, Kennedy Park Yurts, Kennedy Park Campsites, Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park, The Lodge at Camp WaNoKi or a campsite at the Gypsum City OHV Park Campground please visit the Facilities tab on the left.
