Boating Boating at Little River Recreation Area
Water skiing is allowed on Little River Lake in the marked areas.  The remainder of the lake is a no wake zone marked by "NO WAKE" markers.  Jet Skis are not allowed on the lake along with Jet Boats.  There is no horse power limit. 
Cabins Cabins at Little River Recreation Area
The Decatur County Conservation Board has three (3) log-style cabins.  These rustic cabins are a great way to experience the outdoors without having to pull a camper or pitch a tent.  All cabins are one room, handicap accessible and have a patio facing the lake.  The cabins are close enough to the water which makes for a short walk down to the waters edge or  the fishing jetty located just in front of the cabins.  A dock is also located in front of the cabins to tie your boat up to. 
Fishing Fishing at Little River Recreation Area
Little River Lake is approximately 787 acres and offers excellent fishing opportunities for that avid angler.  Completed in 1985, Little River Lake offers largemouth bass, walleye, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. 
Hunting Hunting at Little River Recreation Area
Little River Recreation Area is 2,200 acres jointly managed by the Decatur County Conservation Board and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources as a muti-use recreational area.  Most of the area around Little River Lake is open to public hunting.  Duck and geese hunting is a popular on Little River Lake.  There is a good population of deer and turkey.  Using a boat to access some hard to reach hunting areas will land you a trophy. 
Picnicking Picnicking at Little River Recreation Area
There are lots of opportunities for picnicking at Little River Recreation Area.  Small shelters with picnic tables and charcoal grills are located throughout the park. 
Swimming Swimming at Little River Recreation Area
A large beach offers and opportunity for individuals to cool off from the summer heat.  Swimming is only allowed in the designated swimming areas marked by red buoys.  There is no alcohol/glass allowed in the beach area.  Pets are prohibited from this area also.  Fishing is not allowed within 200 feet of the beach and is marked by two orange signs.  The beach area is a swim at your own risk swimming area and there is no lifegaurd on duty.
