Segebarth Wildilfe Area

Segebarth Wildlife Area (80 acres) was once a crop field now converted to a tallgrass prairie with shallow wetlands at the south end of the property.  This area is prone to flooding often from Crane Creek and provides great habitat for waterfowl and other game species along with habitat for amphibians and reptiles.  A newly built shallow wetland at the south end is designed to hold water when the creek floods, providing hunting opportunities and wildlife viewing.  This site will help with erosion control and water quality of Crane Creek.

Location

Segebarth is located east of the corner of Elk Run Rd. and Cedar Wapsi Rd.\C57 northwest of the town of Dunkerton.  There is a parking lot located off of Cedar Wapsi Rd.
