OWLS - Landfill Tour

Event Summary

Have you ever wondered where all the trash placed into the garbage goes?  Tammy Turner from the Waste Trac Education team will be teaming up with a Buchanan County naturalist to give a tour of the Black Hawk County Landfill.  During the tour there will be plenty of talk about how to reduce your trash and be more friendly to the earth (and ourselves).  Participants also will learn about the status of waste and recycling programs in Buchanan County.  

Current COVID-19 policy does not allow for County van trips.  If this changes, there may be an option for van transportation leaving Fontana Park at 9 a.m.  If so, there is limited seating.  Please note when registering if you would like a ride.
