Nature Night ~ Woodpeckers & Fireflies

Event Summary
Be ready to take flight with woodpeckers and fireflies at the second Nature Night hosted by Buena Vista County Conservation. The program will be held Friday, July 11 at the South Area of Buena Vista County Conservation Park.
The woodpeckers that live in Iowa will be the focus during the first portion of the program, starting at 6 p.m. After an insightful lesson on the noisy bird, participants will join in a woodland hike to look and listen for woodpeckers and other birds at 7 p.m.
After the hike, the participants will gather back at the South Shelter House for refreshments and a variety of activities and lessons on fireflies. The evening will end with a firefly frolic to hunt for these glowing beetles at 8:30 p.m.
Registration is required for this program. To register, contact the Conservation Office at 712-295-7985 by Wednesday, July 9 at 4 p.m.
This program can be cancelled due to inclement weather or lack of participants.
