Nature Night ~ Bees, Wildflowers, & Pizza

Event Summary

The final program in the new Nature Night summer series hosted by Buena Vista County Conservation will feature a trio of popular subjects – bees, wildflowers and pizza.     The program is set for Friday, August 22 at the South Area of Buena Vista County Conservation Park.

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a lesson in creating personalized Dutch oven pizzas. Participants will learn how to make your own pizza, bake it over a campfire, and then enjoy the delicious results.

Following dinner, the naturalist will give a short program on bees at 7 p.m. Participants will then have the chance to build a beehouse to take home.

The last activity of the evening will be a sunset walk through the park to a prairie reconstruction meadow. Along the way, we will be on the search for native bees and other late summer creatures.

Registration is required for this program. To register, contact the Conservation Office at 712 -295-7985 by Wednesday, August 20 at 4 p.m. This program could be cancelled due to inclement weather or lack of participants.
