Birdhouse Workshop
APR 23 2016 2:00 PM
Event Summary
Spring is right around the corner and to prepare for the birds in your yard spend the afternoon building your very own bird house. Join the conservation staff on Saturday, April 23rd at the South Shelter area at 2:00 P.M. We will introduce you to the world of back yard birdhouses and how to build your own. We will discuss how to predator proof your bird house, what are good materials for a house, and what types of birds will use your house. We will be making a bluebird house, however many other species of bird use bluebird houses; please don’t be discouraged if you do not have bluebirds as many other species would welcome a birdhouse in your yard. A fee will be charged of $ 7.00 per house to cover materials. A maximum of two houses per family please. Children under fourteen years of age are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult as we are using power tools such as cordless drill. Space is limited and RSVP’s are required by Monday, April 18th at 4:00 PM. Call the conservation office at 712 -295 -7985 to register.
