Heery Woods State Park - South Side
Heery Woods State Park was sold to the State of Iowa in 1934 and has been managed by the Butler County Conservation Board since 1974. Development of the park was planned by the National Parks Service and Iowa Conservation Commission with work performed by the Works Progress Administration. The south side of the park includes an enclosed shelter house/lodge and primitive restrooms both constructed of hand cut limestone. The south side also contains modern bathrooms, a grill shelter, and the Butler CCB Headquarters at the Allan and Fayette Meyer Nature Center.
Location
The park is located approximately one mile south of Clarksville and approximately 1/2 mile west of State Highway 188 on 195th Street.

Butler County Parks are open for use between daily between 6 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Closures
Butler County Parks are subject to close during high water events, hunting seasons, or for maintenance needs. Please contact us if you have any concerns about the parks may be closed.
