Lime Creek Nature Center & Conservation Area
A nine-mile network of trails dissects a 440-acre area of upland timber, open fields, restored prairie, flood-plain forest, and limestone bluffs; an ideal place for wildlife and a variety of recreational activities. Visitors will enjoy an impressive variety of mounted animals on display in the center, along with several aquarium displays of reptiles, amphibians, and fish. A complete exhibit renovation in 2019 provides numerous natural resource displays and "hands-on" learning opportunities for all ages. The Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board office is located in the nature center.
Location
Located off U.S. Highway 65 just north of Mason City. This land was donated by Northwestern States Portland Cement Company (Holcim) and Lehigh Cement Companies (3501 Lime Creek Road).
