Shelter Rental Contract Agreement (Please read prior to making any reservations.)

By your agreement with these terms and conditions, you represent that you are 21 years or older.

You further agree to assume full responsibility for the acts, negligence or omissions of the members of your group while utilizing said facilities.

Additionally, you agree that you have read and understand the CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICIES concerning this reservation, and have also read and understand the FACILITY CONTRACT information.

Renter will mail in the $100 deposit (cash or check- NO Money Order) within 14 days of reserving a facility. If you wish to pay via Credit Card, the Cherokee County Conservation will email you an invoice where you can pay over Square. Your deposit will be returned pending facility inspection.

You are reserving a facility in a Cherokee County Conservation Board park. ALL COUNTY PARK RULES AND STATE LAWS ARE ENFORCED. Contact the office if you have any questions about park rules, policies or special requests.

Failure to clean up the facility or surrounding area as outlined, or failure to comply with park rules or state laws may result in enforcement action. Cherokee County Conservation Board may take any legal action necessary to recover damages to county property.

  • WHEN YOU ARRIVE- The shelter will be clean, have electricity on, and open for your use at the time and date you specify. At any other times and dates, the shelter is public use without electricity available.
  • WHEN YOU DEPART- The electricity will shut off automatically at 10:30 PM, which is the campground's quiet hours. 
  • DECORATIONS- You may decorate the barn, but please hang with tape, thumb tacks, or push pins. Staples, nails, screws, and the like are not allowed. 
  • KEGS- If you plan to serve keg beer at your event, please inquire about obtaining a permit by calling CCCB at 712-225-6709 or email at cherokeeccb@gmail.com. It will be an additional $15.
  • GENERAL INFORMATION- Violation of any state law or county regulation by any member of the rental party is cause for revocation of the rental privilege and the entire party may be required to leave the area.
  • CLEAN-UP- You are required to clean-up the facility and grounds and return them to the condition you received them. Please put trash in the cans provided and take trash to dumpsters. Failure to clean up after yourself/guests will result in forfeit of your deposit.
  • SMOKING-  Smoking is prohibited in all buildings.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel over 14 days in advance, you will be refunded 75% of the rental cost.

If you cancel within 14 days, you will not be refunded.

If a reservation is canceled by Cherokee County Conservation Board due to the following:

  • We are unable to provide your facility (or a similar facility) in operable condition for the dates reserved
  • Accident or serious death/injury of an immediate family member
  • Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel- such as a winter storm where a travel warning has been issued

You can either receive a refund OR reschedule within the next 365 days without penalty. Please call 712-225-6709 to request a refund or reschedule.

Built in 2016, this beautiful, partially enclosed shelter house would be perfect for birthday parties, weddings, family gatherings, and more! 

The electricity does turn off at 10:30 to respect the adjacent campground's quiet hours. 

Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 06:30 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.

Inside the shelter, you will find 9 picnic tables, ceiling fans, a serving bar, electricity, and 2 garbage cans. Outside the shelter, there is a large stand up grill. Within close proximity, there is a restroom and a playground!

The shelter is $50/day. 

Wedding and wedding related events is a 2 day minimum.
