Building Better Birders Workshop
Twin Ponds, Chickasaw County
Saturday, June 19, 2021
Interested
in birding? Already into birding and want to learn more? Join us at Twin Ponds
Nature Center and Recreation Area for the third part of a four program series
on Saturday, June 19th.
The
Building Better Birders Workshop program, led by Kelly McKay, recently won the
2019 “Ding” Darling Environmental Education Award from the Iowa Association of
Naturalists and the Iowa Conservation Education Coalition. We will have Kelly
here to help you in your birding pursuits.
There will be multiple parts to the
day’s programming: a bird hike from 6:30-9:30 A.M., a 30 species bird
identification program (warblers) from 9:30-11:30 A.M., another program “Birding
Internationally” from 12:30-2:00 P.M., and another bird hike from 2-4 P.M. Kelly will
provide binoculars and field guides to use, and there is no charge for the
hikes or the presentations. This program is funded by an Iowa REAP (Resource
Enhancement and Protection) grant.
If
you think that you might be interested in participating in any of the 4 parts
