Siouxland Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament

Event Summary

"No whimps, no whiners.”                

That’s the motto of the international Ice Bowl disc golf tournament, and only tough cookies will be accepted at the Siouxland Disc Golf Ice Bowl with tee off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, a part of the University of Okoboji Winter Games.                

The Siouxland Disc Golf Ice Bowl will be held at the Okoboji Gold Disc Golf Course in Kenue Park in Okoboji and is open to all ages and all ability levels.                

“This is a way to get out and play disc golf during different seasons,” said naturalist Charles Vigdal. “No matter what the conditions are like, you have to play. It could make it a challenge.”                

Registration costs $20, and those who pre-register by Jan. 2 will receive a free Ice Bowl disc. Participants are also required to bring at least one non-perishable food item to the tournament, and all proceeds and food donations will be given to Upper Des Moines Opportunity.
