Turkey River Recreational Trail
The Turkey River Recreational Trail is part of the Turkey River Recreational Corridor. This scenic, six mile paved bicycle trail winds along the Turkey River from Gilbertson Conservation Education Area up past the city of Clermont. The trail features exceptional views of the Turkey River valley and includes a sculpture of an eagle's nest between Elgin and Clermont.
Location
The Turkey River Recreational Corridor is an Iowa Great Place made up of the communities of Clermont, Elgin and Elkader and historic Motor Mill in Fayette and Clayton Counties. These locations are linked by the special, scenic beauty of the Turkey River. Visitors relish in the abundance of wooded hills and rich rolling plains, streams and rivers, diverse wildlife and recreational opportunities.
