Waters Wildlife Area


The Waters Wildlife Area is a 40 acre area donated to Greene County to be managed as a wildlife refuge.  Because of this public hunting is not allowed.  Buttrick Creek flows through the area, with one side being floodplain timber and grassland and the other upland oak / hickory timber.  The area is utilized by birdwatchers, mushroom hunters, and for nature study.

Location

Waters Wildlife Area is located four miles east of Jefferson on Highway 4 and 1/2 mile south on R Avenue.

The area is open all year and 24 hours a day.
