Outdoor Photography with Larry Stone

Event Summary

July 30, 31 and August 1, 2013
9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day

This workshop will explore photography in such a way as to provide an appropriate groundwork for beginners while also allowing intermediate level photographers to hone their skills.  The class will discuss the proper use and handling of equipment, and how to work with your surroundings and the elements to get that perfect shot. A basic understanding of photography terms and concepts is helpful but not required.  All necessary materials will be available for purchase at the workshop.

Instructor:  Larry Stone
Larry Stone traces his passion for Iowa’s outdoors to the creeks and woods on the southern Iowa farm where he grew up. He also has explored the state for 40 years, both as outdoor writer/photographer for the Des Moines Register, and as a freelance nature writer and photographer. He has written five books, and his work has appeared in a number of conservation magazines. He is a member of the Clayton County Conservation Board. Larry’s wife, Margaret, shares his love of the land. The Stones manage woodlands and prairies on their farm along the Turkey River near Elkader.
