Earth Day Celebration

Event Summary

Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22 to demonstrate support for the environment! Jackson County Conservation is partnering with the Jackson County Energy District for an Earth Day Celebration at Prairie Creek Recreation Area. This FREE event is for all ages. Open house style; come and go between 4:00-7:00.  

Activities/Stations:

- see and touch live turtles and snakes

- learn how to age a tree (hands-on activity)

- get dinner from the Tri-M food truck (proceeds go to Prairie Creek & JCED!)

- make seed balls with prairie seeds

- learn about the Prairie Creek Enhancement Project at the park

- go on a self-guided scavenger hunt along the trails

- catch critters in the pond with nets

- various tree activities

- pick up a free tree (everyone who registered by March 15 will receive their tree; plus 50 more people!)

- compost bins will be for sale

- and so much more!
