Event Summary

Have you ever wanted to go on a real fossil hunt and collect the fossils you find? If so, grab the kids and head to Rockford Fossil and Prairie Park, southeast of Mason City. This site is known worldwide as a premier site for observing and collecting Devonian-age fossils. A PCC naturalist will lead you on a guided fossil hunt looking for brachiopods, crinoids, and more! You will be allowed to take home some of the fossils you find. We’ll spend the day visiting the nature center, having lunch, and exploring the park.

Fee $5; children under 5 are free. Participants will meet at Rockford Fossil and Prairie Park (directions will be provided) and provide their own lunch. All ages welcome.
