A Land Ethic Workshop - Full Season

Join us & celebrated educator Ron Cisar for our full 10 program session season of "A Land Ethic Workshop". This programming series will be held entirely online & is perfect for anyone with an interest in conservation & a desire to develop a better understanding of the natural world outside their own front door.
Each programming session will explore the work of noted philosopher & naturalist Aldo Leopold through in depth study of our native ecosystem. Monthly program session will each have a different focus of study, include a look at Mother Nature's Calendar to help familiarize you with natural changes you can look for throughout the year & will finish out in true Leopold tradition, with a song.
Cost for this program is $15.00 per person per individual session, or, participants may register for the entire 10-session season at the discounted price of $75.00. To register for individual programming session please return to the programming list & select the programming session of your choice. Attendees who register for the full programming series will receive a copy of "A Sand County Almanac" & a blank journal for use during the class.
*Participants do not need to attend every session to enjoy this programming series.
This program is intended for participants age 14 & over with an interest in the natural world, no experience or prior knowledge is required to participate. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.
Participants should note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we are planning on presenting all programs in the "Land Ethic Workshop" series online. Participants will need an internet connection & be willing to use the Zoom online meeting platform to attend.

Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the first day of the event by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 7 days in advance of the event will not be refunded. Program fees for events cancelled by Pottawattamie Conservation for any reason will be refunded.
About "A Land Ethic Workshop"
Following the life work of naturalist Aldo Leopold, participants in this unique, 10 month long programming series will gain a deeper understanding of our local ecosystems through study and discussion of seasonal ecology and will connect with others who share a passion for nature.
"A Land Ethic Workshop" is created & taught by biologist and Leopold scholar Ron Cisar. Ron taught science and biology in the Omaha Public Schools district for 32 years and at Iowa Western Community College as assistant Professor Emeritus until 2017. He is nationally recognized as a singer-songwriter, has spent time leading educational and research programs in national parks, and is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in education.
Programs are held online from 9:00 a.m. to noon & occur monthly, one Saturday per month, March through December. Participants may register for individual sessions or opt to attend all 2021 sessions. Individual sessions are $15.00 per person & our full programming series of 10 sessions is $75.00.
