Iron Bridge Woodland & River Access

Iron Bridge Access not only offers boat ramp access to a beautiful stretch of the Wapsi River Trail, it also offers access to a piece of Buchanan County history. The Iron Bridge at the access is one of only a few like it remaining in the state. It was originally part of a bridge through Independence but was moved to its current location when the new bridge was built. Visitors to Iron Bridge Access can read about the bridge and learn a little history along the way. Please note: Visitors are no longer able to walk on the bridge due to structural damage.

In 2012, 33 additional acres were added and are managed for public hunting and fishing access and nature appreciation.
