Cerro Gordo

This 145-acre permanent "Wetland Reserve Program" tract was purchased in 2 tracts, tract 1 in 2001 through a cooperative effort of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Iowa Wild Turkey Federation, and Cerro Gordo County Conservation "REAP" account funding.  Tract 2 was purchased in 2021 with assistance from Pheasants Forever, Wildlife Habitat Stamp & REAP funds. The area includes 26 acres of restored wetlands, 110 acres of native prairie restoration and oak/hardwood timber.

Parking lot is located just north of the intersection of blacktop B-14 and Apple Avenue (24493 Apple Avenue).
