Kobville
Kobville is a 40 acre park that was donated to the County Conservation Board by the heirs of S.A. Duffield. This parcel had been in the family since it was a homestead in 1857 by Lewis Kob, (Duffield's Father). Much of the area is a mixture of native grass, timber and oak savanna. A large picnic shelter is located in the park.

Kobville Park is located 4 miles north of Leon, IA on Highway 69 and 3 miles east on J20.
Features
Kobville has a nice stand of native prairie and has been known to be the seed source for many prairies started around Iowa. One of Kobville's neatest features is the Oak Savanna located on the south side of the old railroad bed and across the stream. Decatur County Conservation Board is currently in the process of restoring this area back to the native Oak Savanna. Public hunting is also allowed in this area and has great potential for deer and turkey hunting.
Tree stands may be left on pubic hunting area from 7 days prior to the start of a deer season until 7 days after the final day of that season. You may not drive or in any other way place any nail, spike, pin, or any other metal object into a tree on state public hunting areas to construct a blind or to provide hunting access to a location above the ground.
