Slip Bluff Park
This picturesque 400 acre park provides a well shaded campground with both tent and semi-modern sites. The area offers some 2.5 miles of hiking trails. The 16 acre lake provides some excellent Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, and Walleye fishing. Electric motors only are allowed on the lake and there is no swimming. Over 200 acres of the park is covered with beautiful hardwood timber that provides many spectacular natural sights throughout the year. Location
Slip Bluff Park is located 2 miles west and one mile north of Davis City.
Features
Slip Bluff Park has tent sites and electric sites available. Camping fees at Slip Bluff Park are $15 for a non-electric site and $20 for an electric site. We do not accept camping reservations. The campground is all first come first serve. A modern shower house, newly constructed in 2009, allows for showers and flushable toilets. There are also pit toilets, potable water, playground, picnic facilities, and two larger shelters that may be reserved online. The overlook shelter which overlooks the Grand River has a great view. There is about 2.5 miles of hiking trails throughout the park. The park is currently being restored back to Oak Savanna and provides excellent bird watching. Be prepared to see many birds migrating through the park. Hunting is allowed on the east end of the park.
Slip Bluff Park was one of the tour sites for the 2009 Iowa Prairie Conference.
Operating Hours & Seasons
Slip Bluff Park is open all year around.
Closures
The shower house will close down in the winter months.
