Tower Rock
This 19.28-acre area features a beautiful sandstone bluff, which at one time resembled a steamboat. Fallen Rock State Preserve adjoins the southern property boundary. The county property was purchased in February of 1961. The area also provides a well-maintained keystone bridge, picnic areas on the upper and riverside levels, grills, fishing, hiking, and cabins, with year round rental.
Located just outside Steamboat Rock, Tower Rock county Park is a hidden gem. You might just miss the turn off if you’re not paying attention. It is easily accessed by car or bike. The exposed cliffs are sandstone and limestone and the colors are just beautiful.
Location
This park area is entered from County Highway S56, 3/10 of a mile south of Steamboat Rock. The county property begins 1/20 of a mile west and features ½ mile of river frontage.
