Marsh Exploration

Hurstville Interpretive Center, Jackson County

Saturday, July 27, 2024

Investigate what lives in the water! This is a hands-on program and participants will have the opportunity to use nets to catch critters in the water and learn how to identify them.

This event is free and open to all ages. Jackson County Conservation will provide the equipment, including nets. Wear water shoes or boots and be prepared to get wet.

Aquatic macroinvertebrates are good indicators of water quality because: they are affected by the physical, biological and chemical conditions of the water. Come see what aquatic macroinvertebrates you can find.

Registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or email conservation@jacksoncounty.iowa.gov.
