Kayak Rentals

Rental Contract Agreement

I, the undersigned, being 18 years of age or older, hereby realize kayaking is a water sport which involves risk and danger and agree to abide by all the state laws and regulations governing the use of this kayak. I assume all responsibility, not only for myself, but for the safety of all kayak users with me. I take full responsibility for loss or damage to any rented equipment and will replace it at retail value. I further agree specifically to:

• Not allow more than 3 people in a canoe (a child of any age is a person).
• Not allow persons under the age of 18 to operate or ride in this canoe without wearing a properly fitting lifejacket.
• Not dive, enter the water, or swim from this canoe.
• Not allow anyone to operate this canoe in a reckless manner.
• Not allow any pets in this canoe.
• Assume responsibility for this canoe and al equipment until it is secured on the trailer provided at the take out point. Indemnify, save, and hold harmless Muscatine County, Iowa, its directors, officers, and employees and the Muscatine County Conservation Board, its directors, officers, and employees, from and against any and all claims and demands for, or in connection with, any accident, injury, death, or damage whatsoever caused to any person or property arising, directly or indirectly, out of the rental or use of personal property pursuant to the Kayak Rental Agreement and from and against any and all costs, expenses, and liabilities incurred in connection with any such claim or proceeding brought thereon.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds on any canoes not used on the day of the trip unless the trip has been cancelled by the Conservation Board due to weather, flooding, or water levels. The Conservation Board reserves the right to cancel float trips due to weather or river conditions.

Cancellations made at least 15 days in advance will be given a code to use for a future canoe reservation.

Refund Policy

If the Conservation Board cancels your trip due to weather or river conditions, you will be offered a coupon code to use at a later date. Refunds are not given without written request to the Muscatine County Conservation Board at least 15 days prior to your rental.
