you! Stewards of the Beautiful Land is an educational series that covers the
importance of native plants and trees. Join us throughout the spring, summer,
and fall for webinars covering topics that will help you enjoy the native
environment around you and keep your part of the world a little greener! We are

Meet
us out in the field!
Get hands-on experience during
monthly, in-person prairie walkabouts. Four separate counties throughout Iowa
will host monthly field days for participants to learn about plant
identification and experience our state’s native ecosystem.
Thursday, Augst 22 6:00-7:30PM Join Vegetation Management Specialist Tyler Kelly at
the Integrated Roadside Management (IRVM) shop, 60550 210th St.,
Nevada, IA 50201 and learn how the IRVM program provides a cost-effective, environmentally safe management
alternative to conventional chemical and mechanical management practices. IRVM
maintains a safe travel environment on the county right-of-ways, controls
noxious weeds and soil erosion, sustains water quality, improves wildlife
habitat, and provides the public with aesthetically
pleasing roadsides.
Tuesday, September 10 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM
Join Natural Resources Specialist Brandon Clough at
Christensen Forest Preserve in Huxley, IA to learn about the counties efforts
to control several invasive woodland species and restore the parks oak/hickory
savannah.
Tuesday, October 15 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Help Story County Conservation plant trees in the
Hickory Grove Park primitive camping area to replace ash trees lost to emerald
ash bore.
