Fly Tying

McFarland Park, Story County

Saturday, February 8, 2025

Are you passionate about fly fishing or curious to learn more about the art of fly tying? Come join us for an engaging hands-on fly tying program that promises to elevate your fishing experience. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and tie your own flies with instructor Marty J McVey!

The flies you will be tying and taking home are a Zebra Midge (trout nymph), a Flashback Pheasant (trout nymph), a X Caddis (trout dry fly), a Wooly Bugger (trout & bass streamer), and a Sparkle Minnow (trout and bass streamer).

If you have your own vise and tools we recommend you bring those, if not we have them to borrow. You will be taking home 5 of your own hand tied flies.  Please note that the program may not last the full 4 hours. If you finish early you are welcome to leave or stay and ask the instructor Marty J. McVey questions.  Please register online by February 2nd.

Unless otherwise stated, refunds can be issued less a $5.00 processing fee per event for cancellations prior to the registration deadline. No refunds will be made after the registration deadline. To cancel a registration, please call (515) 232-2516.   In need of financial assistance?
